Week 5: News and Highlights

This week brought us some thrilling basketball action, with three games ending in dramatic fashion!

• In the Big 10 battle, the Michigan State Spartans faced the Iowa Hawkeyes in an intense overtime showdown, with the Hawkeyes ultimately securing a 45-36 victory.
• The Michigan Wolverines narrowly edged out the Fighting Illini of Illinois in a high-scoring affair, winning 47-43.
• In an ACC rivalry clash, the North Carolina Tar Heels mounted a stunning comeback to defeat the Duke Blue Devils, 15-12, rounding out an exciting slate of games.

Important Scheduling Note:

Please be aware that the JCC will be closed on Wednesday, Oct 2nd and Thursday, October 3rd in observance of Rosh Hashanah.  Game #6 will be held on Sunday, October 6th. Additionally, all 4:15 p.m. games have been rescheduled to November to accommodate the Jewish Federation’s major event.

October 7th: Marking One Year

We encourage you to join the Jewish Federation of Broward County and its partner agencies for a community-wide event commemorating the one-year anniversary of the October 7 attacks. This event will honor the lives lost, offer support to their families, pray for the remaining hostages, and celebrate the heroes who defended our people. Let’s come together to reaffirm our community’s strength and commitment to Israel.
